Rory Dodd
Rory Dodd (born Port Dover, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian rock vocalist who has performed many songs written by Jim Steinman. He is probably best known for singing as the duet voice (the "Turn around, bright eyes" lyrics) on Bonnie Tyler's version of " Total Eclipse of the Heart", a number 1 hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Dodd performed the backing vocals for many of Meat Loaf's songs. He also sang three songs on Steinman's solo album '' Bad for Good'' (although he is only credited for two of them on the sleeve notes of the LP pressing). "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through", was his biggest hit as a lead singer, reaching Number 32 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Singer of Fire Inc., a Wagnerian rock band that released two songs for the rock and roll film '' Streets of Fire'' (1984). More recently, Dodd has done voiceover work for commercials. Port Dover is an unincorporated community and former town located in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada, on the north shore of Lake Erie. It is the site of the recurring Friday the 13th motorcycle rally. Prior to the War of 1812, this community was known as Dover Mills. Cal Dodd
Cathal J. Dodd (born 23 May 1956) is an Irish-Canadian voice actor and singer. He is best known for his portrayal of the Marvel Comics character Wolverine in '' X-Men: The Animated Series'' and the '' Marvel vs. Capcom'' series of video games. Cathal also provided the voice of the hero/villain Random Virus in the BBC series ''Ace Lightning''. He recorded with producer Bob Hahn in Canada, which consisted of demos and material to be submitted to major labels. His recordings ended up on the RCA label, with a full-length album release ''New Horizons'' on Hahn's own Rising Records label in 1975. He co-hosted in the Canadian TV series ''Circus'' on CTV with Sherisse Laurence from 1978 to 1983. Dodd's family moved from Ireland to Port Dover, Ontario. Samuel Stephen "Steve" Forbert (born December 13, 1954) is an American pop music singer-songwriter. His 1979 song "Romeo's Tune" reached No. 11 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and No. 13 on the ''Billboard'' Adult Contemporary Chart. It also spent two weeks at No. 8 in Canada. Forbert's first four albums all charted on the Billboard 200 chart, with ''Jackrabbit Slim'' certified gold. George Peter John Criscuola (born December 20, 1945), better known by his stage name Peter Criss, is a retired American musician, best known as a co-founder, original drummer, and vocalist of the hard rock band Kiss. Criss established The Catman character for his Kiss persona. In 2014, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Kiss. Early years Criss was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Loretta and Joseph Criscuola, who raised their five children (of whom Peter was the eldest) as Roman Catholics. Karla DeVito (born May 29, 1953) is an American singer and actress. Early life and education DeVito was born in suburban Chicago in Mokena, Illinois. She attended Willow Crest Grade School in Mokena and Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox. She attended Loyola University Chicago and majored in theater. During her freshman year, she joined the Chicago cast of ''Godspell''. ''Dead Ringer'' is the second studio album by Meat Loaf, released on September 4, 1981. It is the second of four albums written entirely by Jim Steinman. The album cover was designed by comic book artist and horror illustrator Bernie Wrightson. Album background Steinman started to work on '' Bad for Good'', the album that was supposed to be the follow-up to 1977's ''Bat Out of Hell'', in 1978. During that time, a combination of touring, drugs and exhaustion had caused Meat Loaf to lose his voice. Without a singer, and pressured by the record company, Steinman decided that he should sing on ''Bad for Good'' himself, and write a new album for Meat Loaf. ''You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic'' is the fourth solo studio album by Ian Hunter. The album featured members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band as the backing band. Allmusic considers the album to be Hunter's best. Ian Hunter (singer)
Ian Hunter Patterson (born 3 June 1939) is an English singer-songwriter and musician who is best known as the lead singer of the English rock band Mott the Hoople, from its inception in 1969 to its dissolution in 1974, and at the time of its 2009, 2013, and 2019 reunions. Hunter was a musician and songwriter before joining Mott the Hoople, and continued in this vein after he left the band. He embarked on a solo career despite ill health and disillusionment with commercial success, and often worked in collaboration with Mick Ronson, David Bowie's sideman and arranger from '' The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars'' period. Garland Jeffreys
Garland Jeffreys (born June 29, 1943) is an American singer and songwriter in rock and roll, reggae, blues, and soul music. Career Jeffreys is from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, of African American and Puerto Rican heritage. He majored in art history at Syracuse University, where he met Lou Reed before The Velvet Underground became active. In 1966, Jeffreys began to play in Manhattan nightclubs including Gerde's Folk City, The Bitter End, Gaslight, Kenny's Castaways and later Reno Sweeney, where he began to explore racially conscious themes in his work, sometimes utilizing blackface masks and a rag doll named Ramon in performance. ''Night Out'' is the 1979 debut studio album by Ellen Foley, a long-time backup vocalist for Meat Loaf. Seven of the nine tracks were cover versions of Foley's favorite songs, while two were co-written by Foley, one of which was "We Belong to the Night", which hit #1 in the Netherlands and #31 in Australia around Christmas of 1979. The musicians were mostly from Ian Hunter's touring band for his 1979 album ''You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic'', with the addition of Australian musician Kerryn Tolhurst on slide guitar. Ellen Foley (born 1951) is an American singer and actress who has appeared on Broadway and television, where she co-starred in the sitcom '' Night Court'' for one season. In music, she has released five solo albums but is best known for her collaborations with rock singer Meat Loaf. Early life and education Foley was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of John and Virginia B. Foley. She attended Webster University. ''Cat Scratch Fever'' is the third studio album by American rock musician Ted Nugent. It was released on May 13, 1977, by Epic Records.
