Roni Numa
Roni Numa ( he, רוני נומה; also known as Ronny Numa,born 1967) is an Israeli retired Major general (Aluf) who headed the Central Command of the Israel Defense Force from 2015 to 2018. Military service Numa was drafted into the IDF in 1983. He volunteered as a paratrooper in the Paratroopers Brigade, and in 1985 became an infantry officer after completing Officer Candidate School . Numa served as a platoon leader at the 890 paratroop battalion and fought in South Lebanon. later on he commanded Duvdevan Unit and Shaldag Unit. Numa Commanded 202 "Tsefa" (Viper) paratroop battalion during Operation Defensive Shield, and later on commanded the Benjamin Regional Brigade during the Second Intifada. Dan Halutz ( he, דן חלוץ, ; born August 7, 1948) is an Israeli Air Force lieutenant general and former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces and commander of the Israeli Air Force. Halutz served as chief of staff in 2005–2007. Biography Halutz was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and grew up on moshav Hagor. His parents are both Mizrahi Jewish, and they were born in Iran and in Iraq. Ofer Shelah (, born 9 February 1960) is an Israeli journalist and politician. He served as a member of the Knesset for Yesh Atid from 2013 until 2020. Early life and military service Shelah was born in Kiryat Bialik. He enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces in 1977 as a soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade, and in 1979 became an officer. He served as a platoon leader and as an executive officer in the paratroopers, and took part in various raids against PLO camps in Lebanon. Operation "Defensive Shield" ( he, מִבְצָע חוֹמַת מָגֵן, ''Mivtza Homat Magen'', literally "Operation Shield Wall") was a large-scale military operation conducted by the Israel Defense Forces in 2002 during the Second Intifada. It was the largest military operation in the West Bank since the 1967 Six-Day War. The stated goal of the operation was to stop terrorist attacks.
