Rondle Owen Charles Stable
His Honour Rondle Owen Charles Stable, QC, JP (b. 1923 - d. 2019) was a British judge, who served as senior presiding Judge at Snaresbrook Crown Court. He was the son of High Court judge Sir Wintringham Stable. Inspection into the conduct of Robert Maxwell Between 1971 and 1973, Stable acted as an inspector for the Department of Trade and Industry on the conduct of Robert Maxwell in relation to Pergamon Press. The inspection report, co-authored with accountant Sir Ronald Leach found that "a large number of private companies including foreign companies exist in which Mr. Maxwell or his family have an interest.". The report concluded with the words, "We are also convinced that Mr Maxwell regarded his stewardship duties fulfilled by showing the maximum profits which any transaction could be devised to show. Wintringham Stable
Sir Wintringham Norton Stable, (19 March 1888 – 23 November 1977) was a British High Court judge from 1938 to 1968. Stable, known as "Owlie", was admitted to the Middle Temple on 13 November 1908, was call to the bar, called to the bar on 27 January 1913, and was appointed to the Bench of the High Court on 26 November 1938. He was barristers' chambers, head of chambers at 2, Crown Office Row, which towards the end of his life moved premises and became known as Fountain Court Chambers. He admitted colleagues who gained his set a strong reputation for commercial litigation, especially Melford Stevenson, Melford Stevenson QC, who succeeded him as head of chambers, Leslie Scarman, Baron Scarman, Leslie Scarman QC, and Alan Stewart Orr, Alan Orr QC.
