Roncador Field
Roncador oil field is a large oil and gas field located in the Campos Basin, off the coast of Brazil, northeast from Rio de Janeiro. It covers a area and reaches depths between . History The field was discovered in October 1996 and is located in P-36 block. The operator Petrobras had been preparing for a deepwater technical challenge such as Roncador under its PROCAP (Petrobras Technological Development Program on Deep Water Production Systems) and PROCAP-2000 initiatives. The field is considered to be a major breakthrough. It involves world's first drill pipe riser, subsea tree and early production riser (EPR) rated for . The Campos Basin is one of 12 coastal sedimentary basins of Brazil. It spans both onshore and offshore parts of the South Atlantic with the onshore part located near Rio de Janeiro. Petrobras 36 Oil Platform
''Petrobras 36'' (''P-36'') was at the time the largest floating semi-submersible oil platform in the world prior to its sinking on 20 March 2001. It was owned by Petrobras, a semi-public Brazilian oil company headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. The cost of the platform was US$350 million (currently US$). The vessel was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy in 1995 as a drilling rig. She was owned then by Società Armamento Navi Appoggio S.p.A. The rig was converted by Davie Industry, Lévis, Canada to the world's largest oil production platform. The Santos Basin ( pt, Bacia de Santos) is an approximately large mostly offshore sedimentary basin. It is located in the south Atlantic Ocean, some southeast of Santos, Brazil.
