Ron "Thunderwood" Underwood is a musician and director from Phoenix, Arizona. He was the lead vocalist for Los Angeles-based bands 9ELECTRIC and Opiate For The Masses. Music career Underwood founded Opiate for the Masses, a post-hardcore band from Arizona in 1999. They formed in Phoenix by Underwood, Elias Mallin, Dustin Lyon and Jim Kaufman. The meaning of their name came from the Karl Marx quote that says the organized religion is an opiate for oppressed countries and cultures. In June 2009, they posted on their MySpace page that they had broken up and gone their separate ways. In 2010, the band 9ELECTRIC was formed by Underwood, Mikey Lopez, Micah Electric, and Casey DC. They were signed to Another Century Records Another Century Records is an alternative rock record label with offices in the U nited States, Germany and London. Elias Mallin
Elias Mallin (born March 23, 1981, Phoenix, Arizona, United States) is an American musician, who played drums for metal/post-hardcore band Opiate for the Masses from 1999 until 2005, a band which he had formed with fellow students of the New School for the Arts and Academics. He was one of the founding members of My Darling Murder, a metal band formed with friends Andy Gerold (former touring bassist for Marilyn Manson) and Tim Kelleher (former touring bassist for Thirty Seconds to Mars). My Darling Murder broke up in 2006, according to a statement released by the band itself, and in the fall of that year, Mallin joined Kill Hannah on the road as their touring drummer. He has since mid-2007 been featured in interviews, photo shoots, and press as a full member of Kill Hannah. Jim Kaufman
Jim Kaufman is an American born record producer who is also a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, recording artist, mixer, film and television composer, mastering engineer and recording studio owner. Kaufman began playing piano at the age of 5 and later studied music theory at the New School for the Arts and Academics, which was also where he started playing guitar. After a stint in a local Phoenix area band, Projex, he began his professional music career as the guitar player and founding member of the industrial alt metal indie band, Opiate for the Masses. In 2003 he took a job as engineer/studio assistant for Charlie Clouser (ex-Nine Inch Nails).
