Ron Pardo
Ron Pardo (born May 15, 1967) is a Canadian actor and comedian. He has performed roles in over 90 animated series. On ''PAW Patrol'', Pardo has voiced Cap'n Turbot since the first episode, and later voiced the breakout villain Mayor Humdinger as well as various other characters. Pardo is also known for playing a wide variety of celebrities on the sketch comedy series ''History Bites''. Early life Pardo was raised in Pardoville, Ontario (named after his ancestors), a small farming hamlet near Chatham. He went to school in nearby Blenheim, and later studied radio and television at Ryerson University in Toronto, followed by working on-air and as a copywriter at CFCO Radio. Pardo later attended the University of Western Ontario in London to study education and worked as a teacher for 12 years in Cambridge, Ontario. The Gemini Awards were awards given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television between 1986–2011 to recognize the achievements of Canada's television industry. The Gemini Awards are analogous to the Emmy Awards given in the United States and the BAFTA Television Awards in the United Kingdom. First held in 1986 to replace the ACTRA Award, the ceremony celebrated Canadian television productions with awards in 87 categories, along with other special awards such as lifetime achievement awards. The Academy had previously presented the one-off Bijou Awards in 1981, inclusive of some television productions. ''Carl²'' (''Carl Squared'') is a Canadian animated series which explores what would happen if a teenager had a clone. The concept of the series is a mixture of biological studies and normal teenage life. Plot Carl Crashman is a lazy 14-year-old who is only good at one thing: slacking. After a rough day and being tired of constantly doing things he hated, he was blogging on the Internet and complaining about his life when he accidentally ordered a clone from a spam e-mail using his fingerprint, a yearbook photo and a scabby bandage; Carl is shocked when an online cloning company sends him an exact clone of himself in a box. Bakugan Battle Brawlers
is a Japanese anime adventure television series produced by TMS Entertainment, Dentsu Inc., and Nelvana Limited under the direction of Mitsuo Hashimoto. The story centers on the lives of creatures called Bakugan and the "battle brawlers" who possess them. The Bakugan franchise itself is a joint venture between Sega Toys and Spin Master. Although originally broadcast by TV Tokyo in Japan, follow-up seasons ('' New Vestroia'' and '' Gundalian Invaders'') premiered in Canada and the US before Japan. Teletoon (stylized as TELETOON) is a Canadian English-language specialty channel owned by Teletoon Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. Its name is a portmanteau of "television" and "cartoon". The channel primarily broadcasts animated series aimed at children and teenagers.
