Ron Landry
Ronald Jude Landry (May 30, 1943 – May 24, 2020) was an American lawyer and politician. Landry was born in Lutcher, Louisiana and lived in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He went to Nicholls State University. He received his bachelor's and law degrees from Louisiana State University. Landry practiced law in LaPlace, Louisiana. Landry served in the Louisiana Senate from 1976 until 2000 and was a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat. He died in Mandeville, Louisiana. Lutcher is a town in St. James Parish, Louisiana, United States, on the east bank of the Mississippi River. It is part of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area . The population was 3,559 at the 2010 U.S. census, and 3,127 at the 2020 population estimates program. History Lutcher was established as a sawmill town, named after Henry J. Lutcher who was a sawmill operator and businessman. Lutcher is also where James Mather and his family established a sugar plantation, and where Mather died in 1821. Thibodaux ( ) is a city in, and the parish seat of, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, United States, along the banks of Bayou Lafourche in the northwestern part of the parish. The population was 15,948 at the 2020 census. Thibodaux is a principal city of the Houma– Bayou Cane–Thibodaux metropolitan statistical area. Thibodaux is nicknamed the "Queen City of Lafourche." Mandeville is a city in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. Its population was 11,560 at the 2010 U.S. census, and 13,192 at the 2020 United States census. Mandeville is located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, south of Interstate 12. It is across the lake from the city of New Orleans and its southshore suburbs.
