Ron Husmann
Ron Husmann (born June 30, 1937) is a retired Americans, American actor who primarily acted in Musical theatre, musicals. In 1961, he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Tony Award and won a Theatre World Award for his performance in the original production of ''Tenderloin (musical), Tenderloin''. Biography Born in Rockford, Illinois, Husmann graduated from Northwestern University in 1959. He made his Broadway theatre, Broadway debut in ''Fiorello!'' in November 1959. In October 1960 he appeared on Broadway in ''Tenderloin (musical), Tenderloin'', garnering a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and winning the Theatre World Award for his performance. Rockford is a city in Winnebago County, Illinois, located in the far northern part of the state. ''Can-Can'' is a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, and a book by Abe Burrows. The story concerns the showgirls of the Montmartre dance halls during the 1890s. The original Broadway production ran for over two years beginning in 1953, and the 1954 West End production was also a success. Gwen Verdon, in only her second Broadway role, and choreographer Michael Kidd won Tony Awards and were praised, but both the score and book received tepid reviews, and revivals generally have not fared well.
