Ron Hicks
Ron Hicks is an American politician from the state of Missouri. A Republican, he represented district 102 in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023. He previously represented district 107 from 2013 to 2016. Missouri House of Representatives 107th district Hicks was first elected to the Missouri House from the 107th district in November 2012, and re-elected in 2014. He chose not to run for re-election in 2016, and instead ran unsuccessfully for mayor of St. Peters. After moving outside his district in June, Hicks resigned from the House in August 2016. 102nd district Hicks ran in 2018 to represent the 102nd district in the Missouri House. After winning his party's primary election by only four votes, he went on to win the 2018 general election with about a 20 percent margin. Kurt Bahr is an American businessman and Republican politician from the state of Missouri. He is currently the St. Charles County Director of Elections. Bahr was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives from Missouri's 19th District in November 2010, and re-elected after that to the state's 102nd District. Weldon Spring, Missouri
Weldon Spring is a city in St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. The population was 5,443 at the 2010 census. History Weldon Spring was platted in 1864. The community took its name from a spring of the same name near the original town site. A post office called Weldon Spring was established in 1875, and remained in operation until 1957. In 1941, the United States Army purchased 17,000 acres of land in the surrounding area. The Weldon Spring Ordnance Works built the largest explosives factory in the United States on the site. It was built to produce TNT and DNT for Allied forces during World War II. It closed on August 15, 1945, days after the end of the war. Most of the land was then sold. A proposal appeared in 1945 suggesting the placement of United Nations Headquarters in the area. Weldon Spring Conservation Area
The Weldon Spring Conservation Area, is a conservation area that is owned and managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation and located in St. Charles County, Missouri. The area borders the Missouri River, and the Katy Trail runs through the area but is not considered part of the conservation area. History The area was named for John Weldon, who immigrated to the area in 1796 and acquired a Spanish Land Grant. During WWII The U.S. Government acquired nearly in the area to build a munitions plant. Portions of the Conservation Area were used by the Weldon Spring Ordnance Works, and old bunkers formerly used for the storage of TNT still dot the area. The area is part of a superfund site, and has been decontaminated. TNT and uranium processing were done on this site. The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, representing districts with an average size of 37,000 residents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years.
