Ron Dominguez
Ron Dominguez (August 10, 1935 – January 1, 2021) was an American businessman who served as vice-president of Disneyland from 1974 until 1990, and of Walt Disney Attractions from 1990 until his retirement in 1994. He and his family lived on the land in Anaheim where Disneyland was to be built. Disneyland is a amusement park, theme park in Anaheim, California. Opened in 1955, it was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Disney initially envisioned building a tourist attraction adjacent to his Walt Disney Studios (Burbank), studios in Burbank, California, Burbank to entertain fans who wished to visit; however, he soon felt that the proposed site was too small. After hiring the Stanford Research Institute to perform a feasibility study determining an appropriate site for his project, Disney bought a site near Anaheim in 1953. Tomorrowland is one of the many themed lands featured at all of the Magic Kingdom styled Disney theme parks around the world owned or licensed by The Walt Disney Company. Each version of the land is different and features numerous attractions that depict views of the future. Disneyland Park in Paris includes a similar area called Discoveryland, which shares some elements with other Tomorrowlands but emphasizes visions of the future inspired by Jules Verne. Walt Disney was known for his futurist views and, through his television programs, showed the American public how the world was moving into the future.
