Romy's Salon
''Romy's Salon'' ( nl, Kapsalon Romy) is a 2019 Dutch drama film directed by Mischa Kamp. It was based on the book of the same name by Tamara Bos. In July 2019, it was shortlisted as one of the nine films in contention to be the Dutch entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, but it was not selected. In 2020, director Mischa Kamp won the Golden Calf for Best Director award at the Netherlands Film Festival. Beppie Melissen won the Golden Calf for Best Actress award for her role in the film and Noortje Herlaar won the Golden Calf for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. Mischa Kamp
Mischa Kamp (born in Rotterdam on 7 August 1970) is a Dutch film director best known for the 2014 TV film ''Jongens'' (English title ''Boys''). Career In 1989, Kamp studied communications science at the New School for Information Services in Amsterdam. In 1991 she moved to the Nederlandse Film en Televisie Academie (Dutch Film and Television Academy), where she graduated in 1996 with the short film ''Mijn moeder heeft ook een pistool''. In the same year she was involved in the VPRO production ''Waskracht!''. After several documentaries and short films, she became known in 2005 through the children's film ''Winky's Horse, Het paard van Sinterklaas'' (English title Winky's Horse). It received multiple award nominations and wins, and screenwriter Tamara Bos won a Golden Calf award for Best Screenplay of a Feature Film. The film received a Golden Film for 100,000 visitors. Beppie Melissen (born 26 May 1951) is a Dutch actress. She won the Golden Calf for Best Actress award for her role in the 2019 drama film ''Romy's Salon''. Career Melissen is known for her role of Cor Hogenbirk in the television series '' Gooische Vrouwen'', the 2011 film '' Gooische Vrouwen'' and the 2014 film ''Gooische Vrouwen 2''. For her role in the film ''Gooische Vrouwen'' she won the Golden Calf Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2012, Melissen also hosted the spin-off talk show ''Villa Morero'' with Peter Paul Muller and they both interviewed, in character, two guests in each episode.
