Romulus Senior High School or Romulus High School is the public high school in the city of Romulus, Michigan in Metro Detroit. History In 2013 Inkster High School closed due to the closure of the Inkster School District. Students in the Inkster zone south of Michigan Avenue and west of Middlebelt were rezoned to Romulus High School. This area includes portions of Inkster and Westland. Demographics The demographic breakdown of the 892 students enrolled in 2016-2017 was: *Male - 54.1% *Female - 45.9% *Black - 77.3% *Hispanic - 4.0% *White - 17.6% *Multiracial - 1.1% 70.3% of the students were eligible for free or reduced-cost lunch. Romulus Community School District
Romulus Community School District, also referred to as Romulus Community Schools (RCS), is a public school district in Romulus, Michigan in Metro Detroit. The district's Administration Offices & Transportation Department is located at 36540 Grant Road. As of Summer 2013, the Inkster Public Schools District was entirely dissolved. The Romulus school district absorbed some of the Inkster boundary. Students south of Michigan Avenue and west of Middlebelt were rezoned to Romulus. Belleville High School (Belleville, Michigan)
Belleville High School is a Public school (government funded), public high school located in Belleville, Michigan and the only zoned high school in the Van Buren School District (Michigan), Van Buren School District. History In 1953, a fire destroyed the third floor of Belleville High School. The blaze began in a basement store room and swept to the second and third floors via a nearby ventilating shaft. No one was injured, but the second and third floors were damaged beyond use for the rest of the school year. The third floor had remained closed, and before the demolition of the building classes continued on the first and second stories. During the Winter of 2010, the Van Buren Public Schools Board of Education approved the accelerated schedule that the architect of Fanning Howey and Granger Construction presented. Grant Andrew Long (born March 12, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player. He played over 1,000 games for the National Basketball Association over a 15-year career. Charley Lau
Charles Richard Lau (April 12, 1933 – March 18, 1984) was an American professional baseball player and a highly influential hitting coach. During his playing career in Major League Baseball, Lau appeared in 527 games as a catcher and pinch hitter over all or portions of 11 seasons for four clubs. Then, beginning in 1969, he spent 15 years as a coach for five American League teams, most notably the Kansas City Royals. He was the incumbent hitting coach of the Chicago White Sox when he died, aged 50, from colorectal cancer in 1984. As a player Lau batted left-handed, threw right-handed, and was listed as tall and . Johnathan Mark Holifield (born July 14, 1964) was an American football running back for the Cincinnati Bengals. He played college football at West Virginia. Football career High school Holifield played high school football at Romulus High School in Romulus, Michigan. College Holifield arrived at West Virginia in 1983. During his first two seasons as a Mountaineer, 1983 and 1984, Holifield accumulated 388 yards and 5 touchdowns. Holifield earned the starting running back job in 1984, as a junior. Charlie Henry (born c. 1985) is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach for the Georgia Southern men's basketball team of the Sun Belt Conference. Playing career Henry played four years Madonna University in Michigan. Coaching career Henry's coaching career began at Romulus HS under Nate Oats for one season before becoming a graduate manager at Utah before joining the Indiana Pacers as a video coordinator. In 2013, he'd join Iowa State's coaching staff as director of player personnel before being promoted to assistant coach by head coach Fred Hoiberg. In July 2015, Henry followed Hoiberg to the NBA as he took the head coaching position with the Chicago Bulls. Henry would get his first head coaching experience in August 2017, when he was named the head coach of the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G-League. Shaler Halimon
Shaler Halimon, Jr. (March 30, 1945 – April 19, 2021) was an American basketball player. He played five seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and American Basketball Association (ABA). Halimon, a 6'5" swingman from Tampa, Florida, played college basketball at Imperial Valley Community College and Utah State University. Halimon averaged 25.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in his two seasons at Utah State. At the conclusion of his college career, Halimon was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 1968 NBA Draft (14th overall pick). He played in the NBA for the 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks and for the Dallas Chaparrals of the ABA. Will Clyburn
William Dalen Clyburn (born May 17, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball Super League and the EuroLeague. Clyburn attended three colleges, from 2008 to 2013: Marshalltown Community College, University of Utah, and Iowa State University before playing professionally in Germany, Israel, Turkey, and Russia.
