Alejandro Romualdo (December 19, 1926 Trujillo, Peru – May 27, 2008 Lima, Peru) was a Peruvian poet of the 20th century. His best known work is the Song of Tupac Amaru, exalting the revolutionary spirit of the 18th-century leader. The poem, which glorified the Peruvian independence movement, won the Peruvian National Prize for Poetry in 1997. Life Born Alejandro Valle, he is the son of famed Peruvian actor, Alex Valle, star of the popular TV series, Risas y Salsa. Romualdo studied literature at the National University of San Marcos in 1946. His first poem, "La torre de los alucinados" made him the recipient of the Peruvian National Prize for Poetry in 1949. Having earned a scholarship, he attended the University of Madrid in 1951. Romualdo Marenco (March 1, 1841 – October 9, 1907) was an Italian composer primarily noted for ballet music. Marenco started his musical career as a violinist in the Doria Theater in Genoa. His first composition was the ballet ''Garibaldi's Landing in Marsala''. He was appointed the orchestral conductor for La Scala in Milan and also directed the ballet company there for seven years. His best-known ballets were written in collaboration with choreographer Luigi Manzotti during that period.Bussi 2001. Marenco is best remembered for the ballet ''Excelsior'', composed in 1881. ''Excelsior'' is a tribute to the scientific and industrial progress of the 19th century, from the electric light to the telegraph, steam engine, Fréjus Rail Tunnel, and Suez Canal. José Antonio Romualdo Pacheco (October 31, 1831January 23, 1899) was a Californio statesman and diplomat. A Republican, he is best known as the only Hispanic person to serve as Governor of California since the American Conquest of California, and as the first Latino to represent a state in the U.S. Congress. Romualdo Palacios González (8 February 1827 – 7 September 1908) was a Spanish general and governor of Puerto Rico in 1887. He is best remembered for his political persecution of Puerto Rican '' Autonomistas'' called ''Componte'', a term that means "to rectify" or "to pacify". His favorite detention centers were the jails at the Ponce Military Barracks in Ponce and the Fort San Felipe del Morro in San Juan. Rancho Huerta De Romualdo
Rancho Huerta de Romualdo was a Mexican land grant in present-day San Luis Obispo County, California given in 1842 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado and in 1846 by Governor Pío Pico to Romualdo. The name means Romualdo's vegetable garden. The grant between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, extended along Chorro Creek and encompassed Cerro Romauldo. History The one-tenth square league to Romualdo, a Chumash Indian. In 1846 Romualdo sold his land to Captain John Wilson (1797–1861), owner of the adjacent Rancho El Chorro, Rancho San Luisito and Rancho Cañada de los Osos y Pecho y Islay. With the cession of California to the United States following the Mexican-American War, the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo provided that the land grants would be honored. As required by the Land Act of 1851, a claim for Rancho Huerta de Romualdo was filed with the Public Land Commission in 1852, and the grant was patented to John Wilson in 1871.
