Romaro Miller
Romaro Miller (born September 12, 1978) is a former American football quarterback from Shannon, Mississippi. He is best known as a three-year starter for the University of Mississippi Rebels. He also played in the NFL and CFL professionally. College Miller set many quarterback records while playing at Ole Miss. He was followed by Eli Manning, who would go on to have an outstanding career for the Rebels and break several of his recently set records. As an Ole Miss Rebel, Miller completed 497 passes on 902 tries. He had 6,311 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. He led Ole Miss to three straight bowl games winning the Independence Bowl twice and losing the Music City Bowl. His overall record at Ole Miss was 22-13. Professional Miller played three seasons in the National Football League for the Minnesota Vikings, primarily backing up Daunte Culpepper. Shannon, Mississippi
Shannon is a town in Lee County, Mississippi. The population was 1,496 at the 2020 Census. Shannon is located on Mississippi Highway 145, west of U.S. Route 45. Chiwapa Creek flows south of the town. History The town is named for Samuel Shannon, who purchased land at that location from Chickasaw Chief Itawamba in the early 1800s, then built a cabin and a farm. More settlers arrived following the Treaty of Pontotoc, which ceding Chickasaw land in exchange for financial compensation. In the early 1800s, Constantine Shannon brought strawberry plants from Shannon to Plant City, Florida, enabling the creation of a multimillion-dollar industry in Plant City. A church was established in 1839. The original townsite was north of the present location, and was moved when the Mobile and Ohio Railroad was constructed through the community in the 1850s. Rhein Fire (NFL Europe)
The Rhein Fire was a professional football team in the NFL Europe, formerly the World League of American Football. Established in Germany in 1995, the franchise resurrected the name of the former Birmingham Fire team which was active during the 1991–1992 WLAF seasons. History The team was based in Düsseldorf (and early on was occasionally referred to in the U.S. as the Düsseldorf Fire), playing its games in LTU arena since 2005 season. Prior to this the team played in Rheinstadion until 2002 and in FC Schalke 04's Arena AufSchalke from 2003 to 2004 in nearby city Gelsenkirchen while LTU arena was being built. The team shared facilities with the football (soccer) club Fortuna Düsseldorf.
