Romanian Socialist Party (2003)
The Romanian Socialist Party ( ro, Partidul Socialist Român) is a political party in Romania formed as the Socialist Alliance Party (PAS) in 2003. It developed out of the wing of the Socialist Party of Labour (PSM) that objected to the merger of PSM with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in July 2003 and wanted the PSM to continue as a socialist party. The Romanian authorities did not recognize this group as part of PSM, and instead it took the name Socialist Alliance Party. After absorbing the ''United Left Party'' in 2009, the party merged into the Socialist Alternative Party in late 2013. In late 2014, the merged party changed its name to the Socialist Party of Romania, replacing the party of the same name defunct since 2013. Socialist Party Of Labour
The Socialist Party of Labour ( ro, Partidul Socialist al Muncii, PSM) was a left wing-nationalist political party in Romania. The party was labelled as neo-communist. It was founded on 16 November 1990. The chairman of the party was Ilie Verdeţ, former Communist Prime Minister between 1979 and 1982, under dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu. At the 1992 general election, the party obtained roughly 3% of votes and thus entered the parliament. Together with the Greater Romania Party (PRM), the PSM formed the "National Bloc" faction in the Romanian Senate. The PSM participated in the so-called Red Quadrilateral coalition that included Iliescu's Democratic National Salvation Front (FDSN), the Greater Romania Party (PRM; at that time national communist), the Agrarian Democracy Party (PDAR), and the nationalist Romanian National Unity Party (PUNR). Socialist Feminism
Socialist feminism rose in the 1960s and 1970s as an offshoot of the feminist movement and New Left that focuses upon the interconnectivity of the patriarchy and capitalism. However, the ways in which women's private, domestic, and public roles in society has been conceptualized, or thought about, can be traced back to Mary Wollstonecraft's ''A Vindication of the Rights of Woman'' (1792) and William Thompson's utopian socialist work in the 1800s. The successor to the pro-Bolshevik wing of the Socialist Party of Romania, it gave ideological endorsement to a communist revolution that would replace the social system of the Kingdom of Romania. After being outlawed in 1924, the PCR remained a minor and illegal grouping for much of the interwar period and submitted to direct Comintern control. During the 1920s and the 1930s, most of its activists were imprisoned or took refuge in the Soviet Union, which led to the creation of competing factions that at times came in open conflict. Romanian Socialist Party (1992–2015)
The Romanian Socialist Party ( ro, Partidul Socialist Român) was a minor Romanian political party with a socialist ideology. It was briefly represented in the Romanian Parliament after two deputies, elected on the Greater Romania Party list, joined the organisation in 2002. The two MPs would leave the party the following year in order to create the United Socialist Party. In the 2008 elections, it won 0.01% of the vote in the Chamber of Deputies and 0.02% in the Senate.
