The Romanian Rugby Federation ( ro, Federația Română de Rugby), abbreviated as FRR, is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in Romania. Romania currently comprises 24,610 players, 9,810 members of which are registered and 113 clubs in the whole country. History The Romanian Rugby Federation was founded in 1913, shortly after rugby union was introduced to Romania by French University students who moved to study in Romania and were also one of the founding members of the ''Fédération Internationale de Rugby Amateur'', now known as Rugby Europe. The federation became affiliated to the International Rugby Football Board, now known as World Rugby, in 1987 when Romania were invited to take part in the inaugural World Cup the same year. AGERPRES () is the national news agency of Romania. History The National News Agency "AGERPRES" is the oldest Romanian news agency and the first autonomous agency in Romania. It was established in March 1889 at the initiative of Foreign Minister Petre P. Carp, as the Telegraph Agency of Romania or Romanian Agency with serving as a "fast and accurate service of all general or special interest news". The Telegraph Agency of Romania was suspended from the end of 1916 until the end of World War I. On June 16, 1921, it established the agency Orient-Radio, "caring only for the general interest and that of its subscribers." In 1926 it takes place a new reorganization of the agency, the Romanian Parliament decided shifting to name RADOR - Information Telegraph Agency. Haralambie Dumitraș (born 11 February 1960), also known as Hari Dumitraș, is a Romanian former rugby union player and current coach. He played as number eight. Professional career He played for Section Paloise and RC Strasbourg in France. Dumitraș was a leading name for Romania during the "Golden Era" of the 1980s. He had 47 caps, from 1984 to 1993, scoring 7 tries, 30 points in aggregate. He was the captain in 13 games. Viorel Morariu (18 October 1931 – 23 May 2017) was a former Romanian rugby union flanker. He was one of the best Romanian rugby players of his generation. His son Octavian Morariu became president of the Romanian Rugby Federation (F.R.R). International career Morariu was a consistent member of the Romanian national team throughout the 1950s and 1960s and was a former captain of the team. ''Adevărul'' (; meaning "The Truth", formerly spelled ''Adevĕrul'') is a Romanian daily newspaper, based in Bucharest.
