Romania In The Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Change" written by Gabriel Băruță and Alexandra Ivan. The song was performed by the band Hotel FM. The Romanian broadcaster Televiziunea Română (TVR) organised the national final ''Selecția Națională 2011'' in order to select the Romanian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Thirteen entries were selected to compete in the national final on 31 December 2010 where "Change" performed by Hotel FM was selected as the winner after scoring top marks from an eleven-member jury panel and a public televote. Romania was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2011. Performing during the show in position 14, "Change" was announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 14 May. Hotel FM
Hotel FM is a Romanian people, Romanian band, formed in April 2005 by United Kingdom, British expatriate David Bryan and his friends Gabriel Băruţa and Alex Szűz. The band held concerts in several cities in Romania and Germany and launched a promotional CD in spring 2006. Founding member Bryan, who is lead singer, is originally from Newton Aycliffe in North East England, where he worked as a binman before settling in Romania. The Hotel FM story began in 2005, when the Romanian composer Gabriel Băruţa recruited a few musicians from his hometown Oradea to create a new sound, a modern pop-rock feel based on melody and innovation, specific to the songs he wrote. Throughout the years, Hotel FM has comprised Nicolae Vedinaş (vocals, flute), Berek Szilard (vocals), Marius Pop (guitar), Vlady Săteanu (bass), Gabi Drăgan (drums) and Sanyi Zakar (guitar). TVR1
TVR 1 (; spelled out as ''Televiziunea Română 1'', "Romanian Television 1") is the main channel of the Romanian public broadcaster TVR. The most important show of the channel is Jurnalul TVR, whose motto is ("The news journal as it should be"), but on 28 March 2009 was replaced by Telejurnal, which is its name till today. In 1985, Programul 1 renamed again to TVR becoming the sole television channel in Romania. In 1989, TVR1 broadcast live the events of the revolt which triggered the fall of the Communist regime, covering almost all the main events live, starting from the last speech of Nicolae Ceauşescu (on December 21, 1989) until the new power representatives arrived. Niamh Kavanagh
Niamh Kavanagh ( ; born 13 February 1968) is an Irish singer who sang the winning entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993. The 1993 Eurovision Song Contest was held in Millstreet, County Cork, Republic of Ireland. She sang "In Your Eyes" to clinch a second consecutive win for Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer represented Ireland again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, with the song "It's for You". She performed at the semi-final on 27 May 2010, finishing 9th in a field of 17 contestants, thus qualifying for the Grand Final on 29 May 2010. BMW 3 Series (E90)
The fifth generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars is designated under the model codes E90 (saloon), E91 (estate, marketed as 'Touring'), E92 (coupé) and E93 (convertible). Goodbye To Gravity
Goodbye to Gravity was a Romanian metalcore band from Bucharest, active from 2011 until 2015, when four of the band's five members died during their concert at a night club in Bucharest, due to a burning firework that started a large fire. History The band first got together in 2010, although they did not play publicly until 2011. Frontman Andrei Găluț, who had previously won the Romanian talent show ''Megastar'' on Prima TV, enlisted the help of a full band, including former members of the Romanian band Thunderstorm, to get the band going. In 2012 the band released their self-titled debut album to a warm reception and steadily built their reputation in Romania. Dalma () (born Dalma Kovács; 18 May 1985 in Brașov) is a Romanian pop/jazz singer and occasional television actress of Hungarian descent. Dalma became well known in Romania after she became the winner of TVR 1's show " Faimoșii" in 2007, but mostly after she qualified in the Romanian national final of Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song ''Love Was Never Her Friend'', composed by Romanian composer Marius Moga, and placed sixth in the big final. Blaxy Girls was a Romanian all-girl rock band from Constanta, formed in 2007. The band consisted of lead singer Rucsandra Iliescu, bassist Cristina Marinescu, guitarist Diana Ganea, pianist Ana Maria Nanu and drummer Gela Marinescu. The group's first single, "If You Feel My Love" quickly became very popular in Romania. Their second great hit was "Dear Mama".
