Roman Rishatovich Safiullin; tt-Cyrl, Роман Рәшит улы Сафиуллин, translit=Roman Räşit ulı Safiullin. (born 7 August 1997) is a Russian professional tennis player. Safiullin is a junior major champion, having won the 2015 Australian Open over Hong Seong-chan. Safiullin has a career high ATP singles ranking of world No. 82 achieved on 6 February 2023, and doubles of world No. 239 achieved on 7 February 2022. Career Safiullin was born in Podolsk, Russia, to a Tatar father and Russian mother. On the junior tour, Safiullin has a career high combined ranking of No. 2 achieved on 26 May 2014. Podolsk ( rus, Подольск, p=pɐˈdolʲsk) is an industrial city, center of Podolsk Urban Okrug, Moscow Oblast, Russia, located on the Pakhra River (a tributary of the Moskva River). The 2022 Australian Open was a Grand Slam tennis tournament that took place at Melbourne Park, Australia from 17 to 30 January 2022. It was the 110th edition of the Australian Open, the 54th in the Open Era, and the first Grand Slam of the year. The 2022 ATP Cup was the third edition of the ATP Cup, an international outdoor hard court men's tennis tournament held by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The tournament was part of the 2022 ATP Tour. Like in the previous year where it would be having an annual cross-travel between Australian states, but due to the uncertainties with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was held at the Ken Rosewall Arena and the Sydney Super Dome in Sydney, from 1 to 9 January 2022 with 16 teams.
