Roman Catholic Diocese Of Žilina
The Diocese of Žilina ( sk, Žilinská Diecéza, la, Dioecesis Žilinensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese in north-western Slovakia including parts of the Trenčín and Žilina regions. It has its seat in Žilina. The current bishop is Tomáš Galis. History The diocese was established on 14 February 2008 from the northern parts of the Diocese of Nitra, which shifted more to the south and from a small part of the Diocese of Banská Bystrica. Today The newest activities in 2022 from the newly established Caplan, the Roman Catholic priest Michal Tichy, were connected to another willingness project—The Wikimedia Foundation's interests. Holy Mass
The Mass is the central liturgical service of the Eucharist in the Catholic Church, in which bread and wine are consecrated and become the body and blood of Christ. As defined by the Church at the Council of Trent, in the Mass, "the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross, is present and offered in an unbloody manner". The Church describes the Mass as the "source and summit of the Christian life". Thus the Church teaches that the Mass is a sacrifice. It teaches that the sacramental bread and wine, through consecration by an ordained priest, become the sacrificial body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ as the sacrifice on Calvary made truly present once again on the altar. The Catholic Church in Slovakia is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. Varín
Varín ( hu, Várna) is a village and municipality in Žilina District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. It is located at the Malá Fatra National Park and also serves as a tourist resort. Etymology The name is derived from Proto-Slavic ''varъ'' ( sk, var, "boiling"). The original name was a hydronym referring to foamed water. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1235. In the middle of the 13th century as ''terra Warna'' it was property of the Cseszneky de Milvány family. In 1993, the local government named one of the streets after Jozef Tiso, a president of the First Slovak Republic, the client state of Nazi Germany. Turzovka
Turzovka ( hu, Turzófalva) is a town in the Čadca District, Žilina Region in north-western Slovakia. History The present-day town was established in 1598 by a palatine of the Thurzó family. It gained town status in 1968. This town became well known by the Marian apparitions reported by Matúš Lašut between 1958 and 1962. Geography Turzovka lies at an altitude of above sea level and covers an area of . It lies in the Kysuca river valley, surrounded by the mountain ranges of Beskydy and Javorníky. Púchov
Púchov (german: Puchau; hu, Puhó) is an industrial town in the centre of Púchov District in Slovakia, with a population close to 18,000. Geography It is located on the main train line between Bratislava and Košice. It is half way between Trenčín and Žilina, two major Slovak cities, approximately 30 minutes train from both cities. The Váh river crosses Púchov, and there is a small dam open to public crossing. Považská Bystrica (; german: Waagbistritz; hu, Vágbeszterce) is a town in northwestern Slovakia. It is located on the Váh river, around 30 km from the city of Žilina. Ilava (german: Illau, hu, Illava) is a town in the Trenčín Region, northwestern Slovakia. Name The name is of uncertain origin.
