Romain Schneider
Romain Schneider (; born 15 April 1962 in Wiltz) is a Luxembourgian politician for the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP). He is a member of the national legislature, the Chamber of Deputies, representing the Nord constituency since the 2004 election. He has been the mayor of the city of Wiltz Wiltz ( lb, Wolz or (locally) ) is a commune with town status in north-western Luxembourg, capital of the canton Wiltz. Wiltz is situated on the banks of the river Wiltz. It was also a battleground in the Battle of the Bulge, near the e ... from 1 January 2000 until the autumn of 2009 when he joined the government. Prior to that, he had been a councillor in Wiltz (1994–1999). Schneider is the former President of the football club FC Wiltz 71. He has been the Secretary-General of the LSAP since 25 October 2004, having first joined the party in 1981. FC Wiltz 71 is a football club, based in Wiltz, in north-western Luxembourg. The club is currently playing in the highest football league in Luxembourg. History It was formed in 1971 as an amalgam of Union Sportive Niederwiltz and Gold a Ro'd Wiltz. In 1976, it absorbed Arminia Weidingen. In the 2005–06 season, Wiltz finished fifth in the National Division, but the team was relegated to the Division of Honour after finishing twelfth in the 2007–08 season.
