Romain Salin
Romain Jules Salin (born 29 July 1984) is a French former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent most of his professional career in Portugal's Primeira Liga, making 140 appearances for Naval, Marítimo, Rio Ave and Sporting CP, winning a Taça de Portugal and two Taça da Liga titles with the last of those clubs. He debuted in Ligue 1 at age 32, representing Guingamp and Rennes. Club career Early career Born in Mayenne, Pays de la Loire, Salin spent six of his first seven seasons as a senior in Ligue 2, in representation of Stade Lavallois, FC Lorient, FC Libourne and Tours FC. In 2007–08 he was part of the second club's Ligue 1 squad, but failed to make any competitive appearances. Mayenne (commune)
Mayenne (, ) is a Communes of France, commune in the Mayenne Departments of France, department, northwestern France. It is a Subprefectures in France, subprefecture of the department. It is situated on the river Mayenne (river), Mayenne. History In medieval times, the town was the seat of the Lords of Mayenne. Ligue 1, officially known as Ligue 1 Uber Eats for sponsorship reasons, is a French professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the French football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them. How it works The club acquiring the player does not have to pay any compensation for their release due to having nothing left to pay on their contract, hence, the term free transfer. The 2010–11 Primeira Liga (also known as Liga ZON Sagres for sponsorship reasons) was the 77th season of the Primeira Liga, the top professional league for Portuguese association football clubs. It began on 15 August 2010 and ended on 14 May 2011. A total of 16 teams contested the league, 14 of which already took part in the previous season and two of which were promoted from the Liga de Honra. Benfica were the defending champions but finished runners-up to Porto, who won their 25th league title in the club's first-ever unbeaten season. Porto's forward Hulk was the top scorer with 23 goals. Teams Belenenses and Leixões were relegated at the end of the 2009–10 season after finishing in the bottom two places of the table.
