Rolf Fehlbaum
Rolf Fehlbaum (born April 6, 1941 in Basel) is chairman emeritus and active member of the board of directors of Vitra, a family-owned furniture company with headquarters in Birsfelden, Switzerland. Education and early life Rolf Fehlbaum, the eldest son of Willi and Erika Fehlbaum, was born in 1941 in Basel. After receiving his Matura diploma, he studied social sciences at the Universities of Freiburg i. Br. and later in Munich, Bern and Basel. He completed his academic studies in 1967 with a doctoral thesis, written under the supervision of Edgar Salin, on the topic of Saint-Simonism. Upon completion of his studies, Rolf Fehlbaum worked for a short time in his parents’ firm. Antonio Citterio (born 1950, in Meda) is an Italian architect, furniture designer and industrial designer who lives and works in Milan. He acquired a degree in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1972 and subsequently started working as a designer and industrial design consultant. From 1987 to 1996, he worked in association with Terry Dwan, designing buildings in Europe and Japan. Jasper Morrison (born 1959) is an English product and furniture designer. He is know for the refinement and apparent simplicity of his designs. In a rare interview with the designer, he is quoted as saying: "Objects should never shout". Early life and education Morrison was born in London, England. He was educated at Bryanston School in Dorset, England. He received a Bachelor of Design degree from Kingston Polytechnic Design School in 1982 and a master's degree in Design from the Royal College of Art, London, in 1985. James Irvine (designer)
James Irvine RDI (1958 – 18 February 2013) was a British industrial designer who created furniture and product designs for many well know companies and brands such as Artemide, B&B Italia, Cappellini, Foscarini, Ikea, Magis, Muji, Thonet, and WMF. He once described the product designer's job as “the work of an unknown hero.” Irvine was the son of the architect and designer Alan Irvine and his first wife, Betty. He obtained his bachelor's degree in industrial design from the Kingston Polytechnic (now University) alongside fellow designers Jasper Morrison and Michael Young.
