Rolando De La Rosa
Rolando V. de la Rosa, Dominican Order, O.P., is the ''Provincial Archivist'' of the Dominican Province of the Philippines. Formerly, he served as the Rector Magnificus of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the oldest and the largest Catholic university in Asia. A religious leader and a seasoned educator, he was appointed by President of the Philippines, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as the chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (Philippines), Commission on Higher Education in 2004.UST Installs Fr. Rector Magnificus Of The University Of Santo Tomas
The of the University of Santo Tomas (pl. ) is the highest-ranking officer and chief administrator of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the oldest and the largest Catholic university in Manila, Philippines. The rector typically sits as chief executive and chair of the university board of trustees. He exercises policy-making as well as general academic, managerial, and religious functions over all university academic and non-academic staff. His term lasts for four years and he is qualified for re-election for two or more terms. In theory, the highest official of the university is the Chancellor (education), chancellor, but his role is largely ceremonial and he does not exercise authority over the day-to-day operations of the university. Darwin Ramos
Darwin Ramos (December 17, 1994 – September 23, 2012) was a Filipino street child and waste picker that became Servant of God of the Catholic Church. Darwin discovered Catholic faith when he was 11 years old. He died from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. After his death, the "Darwin Ramos Association" requested in 2018 to Honesto Ongtioco, Bishop of the Diocese of Cubao to initiate a cause for beatification and canonization.
