Roland Stoltz (ice Hockey, Born 1931)
Frank Roland "Rolle" Stoltz (1 August 1931 – 19 February 2001) was a Sweden, Swedish ice hockey Defenceman (ice hockey), defenceman. He competed in the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics and finished in fifth, second and fourth place, respectively. At the world championships he won two gold, two silver and two bronze medals between 1957 and 1967, and was named the best defenseman in 1963. Stoltz also won European titles in 1957 and 1962, and was selected to the Swedish all-star team in 1959, 1960, 1963, 1964 and 1966. In 1999 he was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame. Stoltz was a mechanic with Atlas Copco, a Swedish mining machinery company. After retiring from competitions he worked as an ice hockey commentator on the Swedish national television. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). They were once called cover-point. In regular play, two defencemen complement three Forward (ice hockey), forwards and a goaltender on the ice. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Ronald Pettersson
Erik Ronald "Sura-Pelle" Pettersson (16 April 1935 – 6 March 2010) was a Swedish ice hockey player. He played 252 international games for Sweden between 1955 and 1967, including thirteen World Championships and three Olympic Games. Between 1951 and 1967 Pettersson played for Surahammars IF, Södertälje SK and Västra Frölunda IF. He won the Swedish championship twice, in 1956 with Södertälje and in 1965 with Västra Frölunda. Guldpucken (''The Golden Puck'') is awarded annually to the ice hockey player of the year in Sweden. It is similar to the NHL's Hart Memorial Trophy. Swedish Ice Hockey Champions
The Swedish ice hockey champions ( sv, Svenska mästare i ishockey) is a title awarded annually to the winning playoff team of the top-tier ice hockey league in Sweden, which currently is the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) since 1975. It was first awarded to IK Göta in 1922, the championship's inaugural year. The championship's present SHL format did not take into effect until the league was originally formed for the 1975–76 season under the name of Elitserien. A team who wins the Swedish Championship is awarded the Le Mat Trophy. Djurgårdens IF holds the most titles in history with 16 titles, but Färjestad BK, who's played all 45 seasons of the current top-tier league, is the most successful SHL team with ten championship titles.
