Roland Dahinden
Roland Dahinden (born 2 May 1962) is a Swiss trombonist and composer. Career He was born in Zug, Switzerland. He studied the trombone and composition at Musikhochschule Graz with Erich Kleinschuster and Georg Friedrich Haas, at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole Florenz with Vinko Globokar). He earned an MA at Wesleyan University in Connecticut (1994), studying with Anthony Braxton, Alvin Lucier and a PhD at Birmingham University, England (2002), studying with Vic Hoyland. In 2003, he was awarded the "werkjahr" prize of the art council of the Canton of Zug, Switzerland. He is married to the pianist Hildegard Kleeb, whom he has worked with as a duo since 1987. Since 1992 he has worked as a trio with violinist Dimitrios Polisoidis. As a trombonist he specializes in the performance of contemporary music and improvisation/jazz. Peter Ablinger
Peter Ablinger (born 15 March 1959) is an Austrian composer. Ablinger was born in 1959 in Schwanenstadt in Upper Austria. He attended the graphic HTL Linz and studied jazz piano from 1977 to 1982 in Graz. He also studied composition with Gösta Neuwirth in Graz and Roman Haubenstock-Ramati in Vienna. Since 1982 he has lived in Berlin. Ablinger focused on chamber music ensembles to 1994, after which he was also involved in electro-acoustics and sound installation. Since 1980 he is working on plant complex "White / Whitish," which deals with various aspects of the white noise, and proved to be very use of different media: instruments, installations, objects, electro-acoustic pieces, note plays, prose, plays, music without sound ; total of 36 parts. Christian Wolff (composer)
Christian G. Wolff (born March 8, 1934) is an American composer of experimental classical music and classicist. Biography Wolff was born in Nice, France, to the German literary publishers Helen and Kurt Wolff, who had published works by Franz Kafka, Robert Musil, and Walter Benjamin. After relocating to the U.S. in 1941, they helped to found Pantheon Books with other European intellectuals who had fled Europe during the rise of fascism. The Wolffs published a series of notable English translations of European literature, mostly, as well as an edition of the ''I Ching'' that came to greatly impress John Cage after Wolff had given him a copy. Wolff became an American citizen in 1946. When he was sixteen (in 1950) his piano teacher Grete Sultan sent him for lessons in composition to the new music composer John Cage. Hans Günther Franz Otte (3 December 1926, Plauen – 25 December 2007, Bremen) was a German composer, pianist, radio promoter, and author of many pieces of musical theatre, sound installations, poems, drawings, and art videos. Pauline Oliveros (May 30, 1932 – November 24, 2016) was an American composer, accordionist and a central figure in the development of post-war experimental and electronic music. She was a founding member of the San Francisco Tape Music Center in the 1960s, and served as its director.
