Rokel Commercial Bank
Rokel Commercial Bank (RCB) is a commercial bank in Sierra Leone. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by Bank of Sierra Leone, the national banking regulator. The bank is named after the Rokel River, the longest river in Sierra Leone. RCB serves members of the public, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as large corporations. According to the bank's web site, it one of the three largest commercial banks in the country by assets. History Founded in 1917 as ''Barclays Bank of Sierra Leone'' as a subsidiary of Barclays Bank, the name was changed when ownership of the bank's stock changed hands in 1999. Banking in Sierra Leone consists of a central bank, the Bank of Sierra Leone, seven commercial banks, and six community banks. Banking sector The Civil War destroyed many of the branches of the country's commercial banks and as of 2005 there were 34 commercial bank branches, the majority in the major towns. Procedures for obtaining loans have been assessed as very complicated and there is a relatively low ratio of private credit to GDP at just over 4 percent. Pujehun
Pujehun is the capital of Pujehun District in the Southern Province. The current estimate of the population of Pujehun is 20,121 people. Pujehun is a rural town and is the commercial and administrative center of Pujehun District. Pujehun lies about 50 miles south of Bo, and about 200 miles -south-east of Freetown. The inhabitants of Pujehun are largely from the Mende ethnic group, although like with virtually all areas in Sierra Leone, the Krio language of the Sierra Leone Creole people is the most widely spoken. Moyamba
Moyamba is the capital and largest city of Moyamba District, in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone. There has been a recorded population of 11,485 in the 2004 census. The city is ethnically diverse, although the Mende people make up the majority. The city is home to the Hatford Secondary School for Girls, which is one of the elite secondary schools in Sierra Leone. The school attract some of the most gifted students from all parts of Sierra Leone, along with students abroad. The school is an all-girls secondary school, and the students are in a boarding home in the school campus. The city has a history of producing some of Sierra Leone's most prominent politicians, including the country's first president, Siaka Stevens.
