Rokdim Im Kokhavim ( he, רוקדים עם כוכבים, "Dancing with Stars") is the Israeli version of the popular British TV show ''Strictly Come Dancing''. The show features local celebrity, celebrities partnered with professional ballroom dancers, competing to be the most successful dancers in the contest. Each week the couple that gains the fewest votes from the show's judges and spectators is eliminated. Viewers vote for their favorites, in order to save them from elimination, via phone, SMS and online. Over 350,000 votes were cast on the show's 3rd-season finale. Abraham Yeshayahu (Avi) Kushnir ( he, אבי קושניר, born 26 August 1960) is an Israeli comedian, actor and host. Early life During high school Kushnir studied at the youth village HaKfar HaYarok. Afterwards, during his mandatory military service, Kushnir served in an Infantry unit. After his army service Kushnir worked as a stagehand and later on began directing plays. Channel 12 ( he, ערוץ 12), also known as Keshet 12 ( he, קשת 12), is an Israeli free-to-air television channel owned by Keshet Media Group. It launched on 1 November 2017 as one of two replacements of the outgoing Channel 2. History Israel's Channel 2 was operated by the Second Authority for Television and Radio, but was programmed by two rotating companies, Keshet Media Group and Reshet. Channel 2 ( he, ערוץ שתיים, Arutz Shtaim), also called "The Second Channel" ( he, הערוץ השני, HaArutz HaSheni) was an Israeli commercial television channel. It started doing experimental broadcasts funded by the television tax. The channel started commercial broadcasting on 4 November 1993 regulated and managed by The Second Authority for Television and Radio. In its first years, the channel was operated by three broadcasters (" Keshet", "Reshet", and "Telad"), and in 2005 only two broadcasters were left while "Telad" stopped broadcasting due to its loss in the Second Authority's auction.
