Rohit Brijnath
Rohit David Brijnath is a veteran Indian sports journalist. Early in his career, Brijnath was a key member of the now-defunct weekly magazine ''Sportsworld'', where he wrote alongside young journalists such as Mudar Patherya and Andy O'Brien. He has also worked for ''India Today'' and has written a recurring sports column for the BBC News website since 2004. He has also written for the Indian publication The ''Sportstar''. He currently resides in Singapore with his wife, where he writes for the Straits Times. He also has a column called 'Game Theory' in the Indian publication 'Mint'. He has co-authored the biography of Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra titled A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold, published in 2011. Sports journalism is a form of writing that reports on matters pertaining to sporting topics and competitions. Sports journalism started in the early 1800s when it was targeted to the social elite and transitioned into an integral part of the news business with newspapers having dedicated sports sections. The increased popularity of sports amongst the middle and lower class led to the more coverage of sports content in publications. The Mudar ( ar, مُضَر) are one of the most powerful northern Arab tribal groupings. History The Mudar and Rabi'a are recorded in central Arabia in the Arabic histories of the pre-Islamic period; the kings of the Kindah bore the title of "king of the Ma'ad (or Mudar) and Rabi'a", and they played a role in the conflicts with the Yemeni (southern Arab) tribes. Harsha Bhogle (born 19 July 1961) is an Indian cricket commentator and journalist. He’s widely known as a "voice of cricket". Bhogle has cemented his reputation as being a personality in the global cricket broadcasting industry. Early life Bhogle was born into a Marathi-speaking family in Hyderabad. He is the son of A.D. Bhogle, a professor of French language, and Shalini Bhogle, a professor of psychology.
