Rogers Park (film)
''Rogers Park'' is a 2017 American drama film written by Carlos Treviño and directed by Kyle Henry. The film, set in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, follows two couples as they navigate challenges in their personal and professional lives. The film premiered at the 2017 Chicago International Film Festival. Plot Grace (Sara Sevigny), who runs a preschool, and her husband, Zeke (Antoine McKay), celebrate a wedding anniversary in the movie's opening; their good time is spoiled by Grace's brother, Chris (Jonny Mars), making a toast that turns into a rant. Chris, who has a chip on his shoulder (one that's too well supplemented by a man bun), is a one-time hot-shot novelist permanently stuck on his second book. Kyle Henry
Kyle Henry is an American independent filmmaker, editor, and educator. Henry teaches film production at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, while also spending time in Los Angeles and Austin. He received his undergraduate degree from Rice University in art and art history in 1994 and his MFA from University of Texas-Austin in film production in 1999. Films Henry's feature narrative debut ''Room'' (2005), a mid-life crisis thriller, premiered at Sundance’s Frontier and Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight sections in 2005. Rogers Park is the first of Chicago's 77 community areas. Located from the Loop, it is on the city's far north side on the shore of Lake Michigan. The neighborhood is commonly known for its cultural diversity, lush green public spaces, early 20th century architecture, live theater, unique bars/restaurants, beaches, and progressive mindset. Antoine McKay (born August 10, 1970) is an American actor, director and educator who appears as “Bunkie” in the hit TV primetime drama ''Empire'' and "Uncle Spike" in South Side.
