Roger Thompson
Roger Thompson (born 19 December 1991) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a centre-back for York United. Club career Early career After moving to Canada, Thompson started playing football at Brampton East SC. He later played with Vaughan SC. In 2009, he played 14 matches for the Graceland University, scoring three goals. In 2010 he attended the University of Cincinnati and made 19 appearances for the Cincinnati Bearcats. In 2011 Thompson was able to play just three matches due to injury. Vasa IFK In early 2012 Thompson trained two weeks with Veikkausliiga club VPS Vaasa, but he wasn't signed. In April 2012 he signed a year-long contract with another Vaasa based club Vasa IFK. He played 21 matches for the team at the Finnish third tier Kakkonen. Clarendon is a parish in Jamaica. It is located on the south of the island, roughly halfway between the island's eastern and western ends. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. The 2012 Kakkonen season began on 18 April and ended on 6 October 2012. Teams A total of 40 teams contested the league divided into four groups, Eteläinen (Southern), Pohjoinen (Northern), Läntinen (Western) and Itäinen (Eastern). 30 returned from the 2011 season, three relegated from Ykkönen and seven promoted from Kolmonen. The champion of each group qualified to promotion matches to decide which two teams get promoted to the Ykkönen. 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship
The 2011 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship was expanded to 12 teams beginning in 2011. The tournament determined the four CONCACAF teams that participated at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Colombia. In addition, the top three finishers from Central America or the Caribbean, in addition to hosts Mexico, qualified to participate at the 2011 Pan American Games. The Executive Committee approved that for men's U-20 championships all three North American teams again qualified automatically for the finals. Central America received four berths, and the Caribbean received five. The new allocations give Central America one more berth than it had in 2009 and the Caribbean three more.
