Roger Tait is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer who represented New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand in the 1968 Rugby League World Cup, 1968 World Cup. Playing career Tait grew up in Huntly, New Zealand, Huntly and played for Huntly United. In 1961 he represented Waikato rugby league team, Waikato. Tait then transferred to Auckland, playing for the Glenora Bears in the Auckland Rugby League competition. By 1963 Tait captained Auckland rugby league team, Auckland against South Africa national rugby league team, South Africa, with Auckland winning 10–4.Coffey, John and Bernie Wood ''Auckland, 100 years of rugby league, 1909-2009'', 2009. . During the 1964 season Tait scored 203 points for Glenora. He was first selected for the New Zealand national rugby league team in 1965 and went on to play in eleven tests for New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand, including three matches at the 1968 Rugby League World Cup, 1968 World Cup. Glenora Bears
The Glenora Bears are a rugby league football club based in Glen Eden, New Zealand who compete in Auckland Rugby League's Fox Memorial competition. History The club was established in 1931 Auckland Rugby League season, 1931 when the Auckland Rugby League Junior Management Committee accepted their application for membership in June of that year whereby they would enter a team in the Third Grade intermediate competition. Clubs had previously existed in the Glen Eden and New Lynn areas and played under those names. Glenora lost their first ever match versus Akarana 0–16 at Glen Eden. The club is based at Harold Moody Park in Glen Eden, New Zealand, Glen Eden. Their first ever grade win came in 1935 Auckland Rugby League season, 1935 when they won the Hospital Cup for winning the 4th grade competition.
