Roger Johnson (June 24, 1934 – February 21, 2005) was an American businessman and government official. Early life and education Roger Wayne Johnson was born March 29, 1934 in Hartford, Connecticut. the son of an AFL-CIO leader. Although he was initially influenced by his father's Democratic Party politics, young Roger decided to join the Republican Party, according to him, the first time he had to pay taxes. Johnson was valedictorian at Clarkson College of Technology, where he graduated in 1956 with a degree in business. He had ambitions to play professional baseball, but a coach convinced him to get a job in business. Johnson earned a master of business administration from the University of Massachusetts in 1963. He eventually went to work for General Electric. In 1969, he left GE to work for Memorex, where he headed the disk drive division. Roger Johnson (politician)
Roger Johnson is past president of the National Farmers Union, and the immediate past North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner. He is a member of the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party. As of 2021, he is the most recent statewide elected Democrat to serve in the North Dakota state government. Early life, education, and early career Johnson grew up on a farm in Turtle Lake, North Dakota. He earned a BA from North Dakota State University in 1975 and did graduate work for two years. He then started farming, while working as a farm credit counselor. In 1988 he was asked by Sarah Vogel, the Agriculture Commissioner at the time, to work for her and run the state's Agricultural Mediation Program, which helped farmers resolve financial problems with creditors. Roger Vivian Johnson (born 10 December 1943) is a record-holding 400-metre hurdler who represented New Zealand in the 1968 (Mexico City) and 1972 (Munich) Olympic Games. He also represented New Zealand in the 1966 (Kingston), 1970 (Edinburgh), and 1974 (Christchurch) Commonwealth Games. Johnson's fastest 400-metre hurdle time of 49.7 was set on 15 April 1972 in Los Angeles. This held the New Zealand record for 42 years, until it was broken by Michael Cochrane in 2014. Johnson was co-captain of the NCAA Champion UCLA track team in 1967. Roger Johnson (born 28 April 1983) is an English football manager and retired footballer who is currently manager at Brackley Town. Johnson began his career with Wycombe Wanderers, where he spent six years as a professional. He then joined Welsh side Cardiff City in 2006 for £275,000. He was part of the team that reached the 2008 FA Cup Final and was twice chosen as the club's Player of the Year in his three-year stint with the club. He moved into the Premier League by signing for Birmingham City in 2009 for £5 million, with whom he won the 2011 League Cup. Roger Kirk Hayes Johnson (28 December 1922 – 1991) was an architect, planner, potter, painter, sculptor, writer and educator. He graduated in Architecture with Honours from the University of Liverpool in July 1949, following an interruption in his studies caused by the Second World War. Post war he practised architecture and teaching in Kenya, South Africa, Burma, England and finally Australia where he emigrated with his family in 1960. Among his contributions to Australian architecture and architectural education were the innovative plans for Griffith University Nathan campus in Brisbane Queensland, setting the university in a natural setting with minimum disruption to the bushland. Johnson was the First Assistant Commissioner (Architecture) of the National Capital Development Commission, 1968–1971.
