Roger Griffith
Roger Griffith is an American basketball executive.. Griffith initially worked for the Minnesota Lynx' sibling team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to that, he had worked for Timberwolves and Lynx owner Glen Taylor at Taymark. Griffith succeeded the Lynx's first coach and general manager, Brian Agler, in 2003. While his hiring was relatively uneventful, he eventually received some criticism from fans, especially during a long playoff drought during the first part of his tenure as general manager. These calls stopped, however, after Griffith hired coach Cheryl Reeve, and built a team around Seimone Augustus, Lindsay Whalen, and Maya Moore Maya April Moore (born June 11, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx, who is currently on sabbatical. Western Conference (WNBA)
The Western Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. The top eight teams in the regular season, without regard to conference affiliation, advance to the playoffs, which are seeded based strictly on regular-season record (with tiebreakers as needed).
