Roger Ferris
Roger Paul Ferris is a British pop music composer, prevalent throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He is father of British pianist, arranger, and producer and Steinway & Sons global ambassador Dominic Ferris. Composition work In 1975 Ferris wrote the Top 30 UK chart hit single " My Last Night With You" for The Arrows. The song was produced by Mickie Most on his RAK label, and as recorded by The Arrows was also a top 30 chart hit in Switzerland. Ferris wrote two more songs for The Arrows, both released in 1975 in the UK and Europe: "Hard Hearted" and " Broken Down Heart", both released in 1975. "Broken Down Heart" was the B-side of the first version of "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" (made famous in the US by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts in 1981). In 1979, Ferris went on to co-write with Glo Macari a further two international hits for RAK. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin, September 22, 1958) is an American singer, guitarist, record producer, and actress. Jett is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song "Cherry Bomb". With The Blackhearts, Jett is known for her rendition of the song " I Love Rock 'n Roll" which was number-one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Maggie May (folk Song)
"Maggie May" (or "Maggie Mae") (Roud No. 1757) is a traditional Liverpool folk song about a prostitute who robbed a "homeward bounder": a sailor coming home from a round trip. John Manifold, in his ''Penguin Australian Song Book'', described it as "A foc'sle song of Liverpool origin apparently, but immensely popular among seamen all over the world". It became widely circulated in a skiffle version from the late 1950s. In 1964, the composer and lyricist Lionel Bart (the creator of the musical ''Oliver!''), used the song and its backstory as the basis of a musical set around the Liverpool Docks. "Dig It" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1970 album ''Let It Be''. The song is credited to Lennon/McCartney/Harrison/ Starkey, and is one of the few songs to be credited to all of the Beatles. This song and the 39-second "Maggie Mae" appear on the ''Let It Be'' album, but are excluded from the '' Let It Be... Naked'' album, instead being replaced with " Don't Let Me Down". Glyn Johns' May 1969 version of the album, then titled ''Get Back'', had a four-minute excerpt of "Dig It", which was later reduced to the much shorter version in the final album. "Two of Us" is a 1969 song written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The song was recorded by the Beatles on 31 January 1969. Abbey Road Studios (formerly EMI Recording Studios) is a recording studio at 3 Abbey Road, St John's Wood, City of Westminster, London, England. It was established in November 1931 by the Gramophone Company, a predecessor of British music company EMI, which owned it until Universal Music Group (UMG) took control of part of it in 2013. ''On the Buses'' is a 1971 British comedy film directed by Harry Booth and starring Reg Varney and Doris Hare. The film is the first spin-off film from the TV sitcom ''On the Buses'' and was followed by two further films, ''Mutiny on the Buses'' (1972) and ''Holiday on the Buses'' (1973).
