Rogan is an Irish surname, deriving from the Irish ''Ó Ruadhagáin'', which can be loosely translated to mean "red-haired." Wilber Joe Rogan, also known as "Bullet Joe" (July 28, 1893 – March 4, 1967), was an American pitcher, outfielder, and manager for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro baseball leagues from 1920 to 1938. Renowned as a two-way player who could both hit and pitch successfully, one statistical compilation shows Rogan winning more games than any other pitcher in Negro leagues history and ranking fourth highest in career batting average. Emma Rogan (born 27 June 1986) is a Sinn Féin politician from Loughinisland, County Down, in Northern Ireland. She attended St Colmcille's High School, Crossgar. She served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the South Down constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly from June 2017 to 2022. Rogan was co-opted to the Assembly to replace Chris Hazzard, a Sinn Féin MLA and former Minister for Infrastructure. Anton Rogan (born 25 March 1966) is a former professional footballer. His playing career included spells at Lisburn Distillery, Celtic, Sunderland, Oxford United, Millwall and Blackpool.
