Rodrigo Fernández Cedrés (born 3 January 1996) is a Uruguayan professional Association football, footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Argentine club Newell's Old Boys, on loan from Brazilian club Santos FC, Santos. Career Danubio Born in Montevideo, Fernández was a Danubio F.C., Danubio youth graduate, having joined their youth setup in 2009. He made his first team – and Uruguayan Primera División, Primera División – debut on 3 September 2016, starting in a 1–2 away loss against Rampla Juniors. The following 9 August, after already establishing himself as a starter, he renewed his contract with the club. Copa Libertadores
The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the '' Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The Copa do Brasil ( en, Brazil Cup) is a knockout football competition played by 92 teams, representing all 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District. It is the Brazilian domestic cup and the Brazilian equivalent of the FA Cup, Taça de Portugal, Copa del Rey, Scottish Cup and Copa Argentina.
