Rodolphe Meyer de Schauensee (January 4, 1901 – April 24, 1984) was an American ornithologist. ''Eunectes deschauenseei'', commonly known as the dark-spotted anaconda or De Schauensee's anaconda, is a species of snake in the subfamily Boinae of the family Boidae. The species is native to northeastern South America. Like all boas, it is a nonvenomous constrictor. No subspecies are currently recognized. Taxonomy The specific name, ''deschauenseei'', is in honor of American ornithologist Rodolphe Meyer de Schauensee, who donated a specimen to the Philadelphia Zoo in 1924. The green-capped tanager (''Stilpnia meyerdeschauenseei'') is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is endemic to forest edge and gardens at altitudes of 1450–2200 m. in Puno, Peru, and La Paz, Bolivia. It is fairly common and possibly spreading, Schulenberg T, Stotz D, Lane D, O'Neill J, Parker T III (2007). ''Birds of Peru.''
