Rodney Redes (born 22 February 2000) is a Paraguayan professional footballer who plays as a winger for Major League Soccer club Austin FC. La Colmena, Paraguay
La Colmena is a town and ''distrito'' in the Paraguarí Department of Paraguay. It is the first Japanese colony of the country. History Japanese settlement in Paraguay intensified after Brazil legally limited immigration from the Far East in 1934. Seeking alternatives the Japanese turned to Paraguay. In 1936, 100 Japanese families established a colony at La Colmena. The 24,000-acre site was selected after evaluation by agronomic experts, but the team was limited by restrictions set by the Japanese company that managed the settlement. Climate Based on data collected between 1938 and 1945, the climate in La Colmena exhibits extreme variability in rainfall, a feature common to Paraguay as a whole, though La Colmena receives more rainfall than the nearby capital Asunción. Subtropical and semi-deciduous forest is supported by the well-drained interfluves. Rainfall can sometimes prevent the harvest of cotton crops. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The CONCACAF Champions League, known officially as the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONCACAF. The tournament is contested by clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The 2023 Austin FC season was the club's third season in Major League Soccer, the top flight of soccer in the United States. They played in the league's Western Conference and finished as Western runners-up to Los Angeles FC in the 2022 regular season standings. The 2021 Austin FC season was the club's inaugural season in Major League Soccer, the top flight of soccer in the United States. This was also the first season a top-tier sports franchise is playing in the Greater Austin region. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season began on April 17, 2021, about a month and a half later than normal, and concluded on November 7, 2021. Outside of MLS, Austin FC would have competed in the 2021 U.S. Open Cup, but that competition was postponed indefinitely in April before being canceled in July. Austin FC won their first match in Commerce City, CO against the Colorado Rapids 3-1, where midfielder Diego Fagundez scored the club's first ever goal. They played their first game in Austin in front of 20,738 fans, a 0-0 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes.
