Rodney John Allam
Rodney John Allam, MBE (born 1940 in St Helens, Lancashire) is an English chemical engineer and fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers who is credited with inventions related to power generation, notably the Allam power cycle, which is a generation process for fossil fuels, with integrated carbon dioxide capture. Career Allam was employed by Air Products & Chemicals for 44 years, most recently as Director of Technology Development. In 2004, he was appointed member of the Order of the British Empire for services to the environment. He has also been a visiting professor at the Imperial College of Science and Technology and a lead author of the IPCC special report on carbon dioxide capture and storage, released in 2005. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. In physics, cryogenics is the production and behaviour of materials at very low temperatures. Boris Ivanovich Katorgin (russian: Борис Иванович Каторгин; born 13 October 1934 in Solnechnogorsk) is a Russian scientist who is known for his development of commercially successful rocket engine systems. Career Katorgin graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University in 1958 and became Doctor of Technology in 1983. He joined the NPO Energomash rocket engine manufacturer in 1958 and was its CEO and chief designer between 1991 and 2005. He has been a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2003. Katorgin is mainly known for his work on cryogenic liquid-propellant rocket engines. Valery Viktorovich Kostuk (russian: Вале́рий Ви́кторович Костю́к; born 26 August 1940 in Zaporizhia) is a Russian scientist who has contributed to the development of processes for producing gases and cryogenic liquids. He is a vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Career Kostuk graduated from the Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute in 1962 and then worked there as an engineer until 1963. From 1963 to 1978, he worked at the Moscow Aviation Institute, receiving a doctorate in 1976 and rising to the rank of professor.
