Brasstown Bald
Brasstown Bald is the highest point in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is located in the northeastern part of the state in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the border between Towns and Union counties south of the city of Hiawassee. The mountain is known to the native Cherokee people as Enotah. Description The name in English is derived from a mistaken translation of the term for the nearby Cherokee village of Brasstown, located along the upper Brasstown Creek (named in English from the same error) feeding the Hiawassee River. Track Rock
Track Rock is located in the Track Rock Gap Archaeological Area (9Un367) in the Brasstown Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. This area contains preserved petroglyphs of ancient Indigenous peoples of the Americas, Native American origin that resemble animal and bird tracks, crosses, circles and human footprints. The Georgia Historical Marker placed there in 1988 says: This area is one of the best-known of the petroglyph, or marked stone, sites in Georgia. Arkaquah Trail
The Arkaquah Trail is a hiking trail that has been designated as a National Recreation Trail in Georgia. The trail is 5.5 miles (8.25 km) long (not including the trail from the parking area to the summit and back) and is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in the Brasstown Ranger District. Locust Log Ridge refers to two different mountain ridges located within the State of Georgia. *Locust Log Ridge in Union County, Georgia is a ridge located west of Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point.
