Rockdale Ilinden Football Club (formerly known as the Rockdale City Suns Football Club from 1992 to 2020) is an Australian Macedonian soccer club based in Sydney suburb of Rockdale. Founded in 1969, the club competes in the highest men's competition in New South Wales, the National Premier League NSW. The club's home ground is Ilinden Sports Centre, located in the suburb of Rockdale, New South Wales. History The Rockdale Ilinden Soccer Club was formed in 1969 by a group of Macedonian Australians who gave the team the name " Ilinden" which has special meaning for all Macedonians throughout history. The club's first President Simon Zipevski laid the foundations as did the late Vlade Temelkovski who was president in 1978. On the field, the highlights would have to be the grand final wins (of different leagues) in 1984, 2002 and 2006. Bicentennial Park South
Bicentennial Park South, currently known as Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre, is a football (soccer) stadium in Rockdale, a suburb of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. The venue is owned by Bayside Council and is currently leased and operated by the Rockdale Ilinden Football Club who compete in various local competitions, along with the top tier of men's football in the state, the National Premier Leagues NSW. The stadium was an open field prior to a redevelopment which began in October 2008 and completed with an official opening in December 2009. History Bicentennial Park was opened in 1988. The National Premier Leagues NSW is a semi-professional soccer competition in New South Wales, Australia. The competition is conducted by Football NSW, the organising body in New South Wales (the other being the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW organised by Northern NSW Football). John Crehan Park is a multi-use stadium in the southern part of Wollongong, Australia. The stadium is on Merret Avenue, Cringila. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It is the home of New South Wales Premier League side Wollongong FC and Illawarra Premier League side Cringila Lions FC.
