''Rock Wars'' is a Canadian television variety series, which aired in 1985 on CBC Television."CBC opens fire with Rock Wars". ''The Globe and Mail'', February 1, 1985. ''Star Search'' was an American television show that was produced by T.P.E./ Rysher Entertainment from 1983 to 1995, hosted by Ed McMahon, and created by Al Masini. A relaunch was produced by 2929 Productions from 2003 to 2004. On both versions of the show, contestants competed in several genres of entertainment. Micah Barnes
Micah Barnes is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He has performed both as a solo artist and with the band the Nylons. Born in Vienna, Barnes is the son of composer, conductor and jazz drummer Milton Barnes (composer), Milton Barnes, and author, TV (Mr Dressup) and CBC Radio writer Lilly Barnes. He is the brother of drummer Daniel Barnes and cellist Ariel Barnes. He attended Oakwood Collegiate Institute in Toronto, and then studied voice with José Hernandez and Bill Vincent, and sang in Toronto cabarets and nightclubs during the 1980s while appearing in theatre, film, television and radio productions as an actor. He was subsequently a member of the Nylons from 1990 to 1996, and later moved to Los Angeles. Haywire (band)
Haywire is a Canadian rock band, originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. History Haywire was formed in Charlottetown in 1981 by Paul MacAusland (vocals), Marvin Birt (guitar/vocals), David Rashed (keys/vocals), Ronnie Switzer (bass/vocals) and Scott Roberts (drums). Ron "Bumble" LeBlanc replaced Roberts in 1984, playing with the band through their demo, EP, and three cuts on their debut Attic release before leaving to continue his education. Mac Cole filled the drum seat briefly until Sean Kilbride (a long-time friend of the band) rounded out the line-up. Eight Seconds
Eight Seconds was a Canadian synthpop/progressive rock band formed in 1982 in Ottawa. They are perhaps best known for their 1986 single " Kiss You (When It's Dangerous)" which peaked at #14 in 1987 and was on the charts for 28 weeks in Canada from the album ''Almacantar''. The band's lineup included Andrés del Castillo (vocals/guitar), March Cesare ( bass), Frank Levin (keyboards), Scott Milks ( drums), and Marc Parent (guitar). Profile Originally, Eight Seconds was a cover band playing local bars in Ottawa, but one of their first originals, "Where's Bula?", won the CHEZ 106's Sharechez '83 homegrown contest.
