Rock Radio
Rock Radio was a brand of radio stations in the United Kingdom owned by GMG Radio. 96.3 Rock Radio was the first station in the network. It operated in West Central Scotland. The station was launched on the frequency which was formerly used by Paisley local radio station Q96. A digital station named Rock Radio was launched on DAB on 1 April 2008 in the North East of England, and extended to Yorkshire and the Severn Estuary from 2010. Rock FM (previously Rock & Gol) is a Spanish radio station owned by Radio Popular S.A. (Cadena COPE). Rock & Gol programs are centered on rock music of all times and soccer. It was until recently well known among young people for its two lead hosts Iván Guillén and Rafa Escalada and for beaming the best music of all times. Rock FM is an Independent Local Radio station based in Manchester, England, owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Hits Radio network. It broadcasts to Lancashire, North West England. As of September 2022, the station has a weekly audience of 209,000 listeners according to RAJAR. Overview Originally launched in 1982 as Red Rose Radio, transmitting on 97.3 MHz and 999 kHz (301m MW). The FM frequency transmission changed when the station split to 97.4 MHz in 1990. In 1990, Red Rose Radio was split into two stations - Red Rose Rock FM using the FM frequency and Red Rose Gold on the medium wave frequency. Rock FM was given its name as the station was initially going to be based in Blackpool, Lancashire. However the agreement for the studio premises subsequently fell through and the station remained in Preston. The Rock Radio Network is a 6-station AM and FM radio network out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It broadcasts Christian biblical teaching in a bilingual format. The Rock consists of the stations WBMJ / W258DT in San Juan, WIVV / W280GC in Vieques, and WCGB / W293DP in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico. The Rock is owned and operated by Calvary Evangelistic Mission, Inc. History ;WIVV Days The Rock Radio Network began as the missionary radio station WIVV (AM-1370). In 1952, the missionary couple Don and Ruth Luttrell moved to Vieques, Puerto Rico."CEM: 40 Years and Beyond" (Anniversary Booklet: CEM, Inc.). Don Luttrell was a pioneer missionary pilot and evangelist. When they arrived, their main purpose was to evangelize by means of rallies and Bible study courses.
