Rochester Lancers (MASL)
The Rochester Lancers are an indoor soccer team in the Major Arena Soccer League 2. The team is named in honor of the Rochester Lancers of the North American Soccer League. The team was active from November 2011 through March 2015. In July 2015, the team cited a sharp increase in the cost of insurance to more than double the team's payroll costs and announced the end of the franchise. A new version of the team contested the 2018–19 Major Arena Soccer League 2 season; for 2019–20 the team moved back up to the MASL. After another two year hiatus the Lancers are in M2 for the 2022-23 season. History In 1995, Salvatore "Soccer Sam" Fantauzzo purchased the Rochester Lancers name and logo as part of his soccer memorabilia collection. Doug Miller (soccer)
Doug Miller (born May 5, 1969) is an American youth soccer coach and retired soccer player. He spent one season in Major Indoor Soccer League and nine in the National Professional Soccer League as a forward, winning two championships and leading the league in scoring in 1998–99. Miller also played ten seasons of outdoor soccer in the USISL and A-League. He was the 1996 and 1997 USISL A-League leading scorer and 1997 league MVP. He also won one U.S. Open Cup. In 2011, he became the first player signed to the new Rochester Lancers indoor team and was named the first team captain in the club's history. Bill Andracki is a retired American soccer goalkeeper who had an extensive professional career playing both indoor and outdoor soccer. Youth In 1988 and 1989, Andracki attended Mercer County Community College, playing on the men's soccer team. He was a 1988 NJCAA First Team All American and was a member of the 1989 Junior College National Championship. He is a member of the Mercer County Community College Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2014–15 Major Arena Soccer League season was the seventh season for the league and the first since six teams from the former Major Indoor Soccer League defected to what was formerly called the Professional Arena Soccer League. The 2014–15 Rochester Lancers season was the fourth and final season of the Rochester Lancers professional indoor soccer club. The Lancers, an Eastern Division team in the Major Arena Soccer League, played their home games at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester, New York. The Dome Center
The Dome Center is a fair and convention complex located in Henrietta, New York, just outside the city of Rochester. United Women's Soccer
United Women's Soccer (UWS, also commonly abbreviated UWS) is a second-division pro-am women's soccer league in the United States. The league was founded in 2015 as a response to the dual problems of disorganization in the WPSL and of the folding of the original USL W-League.
