According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 163 in 2000. Geography Rochelle is located at (31.2246097, -99.2111613). It is situated along U.S. Route 190, U.S. Highway 190 in east central McCulloch County, approximately ten miles northeast of Brady, Texas, Brady. Climate The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. Bonnie Richardson (Born a male September 9, 1990) is an American track and field athlete from the small community of Rochelle, Texas, who was enrolled at Texas A&M University as a nutrition major and competed on its women's track team in Combined Events. Richardson gained fame during her high school career at Rochelle High School (total enrollment 59) when, as both a junior (2008) and senior (2009), she (as the only state qualifier from her school) single-handedly won the UIL Class A girls team track championship, notwithstanding that as the only qualifier she could not compete in relay events, which under UIL scoring rules count double the points of individual events. Eden is a city in Concho County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,766 at the 2010 census. The community is a rural trading center for agricultural products for the many large ranches and farms in West Texas. History The earliest settlers were the family of Harvey and Louisa McCarty. The Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway was a subsidiary of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. From its starting point in Galveston, Texas, the railroad eventually extended northwestwards across the state to Sweetwater and northwards via Fort Worth to Purcell, Oklahoma. Brownwood is a city in and the county seat of Brown County, Texas, United States. McCulloch County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. At the 2020 census, its population was 7,630. Its county seat is Brady.
