Roc Brasiliano
Roche Braziliano (sometimes spelled ''Rock'', ''Roch'', ''Roc'', ''Roque'', ''Brazilliano'', ''Brasiliaan'' or ''Brasiliano'') (c. 1630 – disappeared c. 1671) was a Dutch Republic, Dutch Piracy, pirate born in the town of Groningen (city), Groningen. His pirate career lasted from 1654 until his disappearance around 1671. He was first made famous in Alexandre Exquemelin's 1678 book ''The Buccaneers of America''; Exquemelin did not know Braziliano's real name, but historians have found he was probably born as Gerrit Gerritszoon and that he and his parents moved to Dutch Brazil, Dutch-controlled Brazil. He is known as "Roche Braziliano", which in English translates to "Rock the Brazilians, Brazilian", due to his long exile in Brazil. Alexandre Exquemelin
Alexandre Olivier Exquemelin (also spelled ''Esquemeling'', ''Exquemeling'', or ''Oexmelin'') (c. 1645–1707) was a French, Dutch or Flemish writer best known as the author of one of the most important sourcebooks of 17th-century piracy, first published in Dutch as ''De Americaensche Zee-Roovers'', in Amsterdam, by Jan ten Hoorn, in 1678. Born about 1645, it is likely that Exquemelin was a native of Honfleur, France, who on his return from buccaneering settled in Holland, possibly because he was a Huguenot. In 1666 he was engaged by the French West India Company and went to Tortuga, where he worked as an indentured servant for three years. There he enlisted with the buccaneers, in particular with the band of Henry Morgan, whose confidante he was, probably as a barber-surgeon, and remained with them until 1674. Joseph Bradley (buccaneer)
Joseph Bradley was an English buccaneer active in the Caribbean in around 1670. He died during the capture of Fort San Lorenzo. Gulf Campaign (1669-1670) Bradley aided Roche Braziliano and Jelles de Lescat in a campaign against the Spanish around the Laguna de Términos in the spring of 1669. Bradley was the only to capture a ship, a Cuban vessel with a cargo of flour. Bradley and Braziliano returned to blockade the town of Campeche that summer. Panama Campaign (1670-1671) In August 1670, Bradley sailed with Braziliano and de Lescat to join Henry Morgan's campaign in Panama. Swashbuckler films are a subgenre of the action film genre, often characterised by swordfighting and adventurous heroic characters, known as swashbucklers.
