Robotech (comics)
''Robotech'' comics first officially appeared in print in 1985, though Comico published the first issue of its license from Harmony Gold USA under the ''Macross'' name. When Harmony Gold was releasing the first few episodes of its original ''Macross'' dub in 1984, it was discovered that Revell already had a ''Robotech Defenders'' line of scale model kits that included the transformable ''Macross'' mecha. The potential for brand confusion caused concern that Harmony Gold would have problems selling its own transformable ''Macross'' toys. Harmony Gold and Revell were able to come to a co-licensing agreement — when producer Carl Macek had the idea to combine ''Macross'' with ''Southern Cross'' and ''Mospeada'' to create an 85-episode television series, he chose to use Revell's pre-existing ''Robotech'' name and logo to strengthen the title's brand recognition. DC Comics, Inc. (doing business as DC) is an American comic book publisher and the flagship unit of DC Entertainment, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. ''Robotech'' is an American 85-episode adaptation of three unrelated Japanese anime television series (from three different fictional universes) made between 1982 and 1984 in Japan; the adaptation was aired in 1985. Within the combined and edited story, ''Robotechnology'' refers to the scientific advances discovered in an alien starship that crashed on a South Pacific island. With this technology, Earth developed giant robotic machines or mecha (many of which were capable of transforming into vehicles) to fight three successive extraterrestrial invasions. Waltrip Brothers
Jason Waltrip and John Waltrip are identical twins who comprise a comic book art and writing team, known for their work on '' Robotech comics'' and in webcomics. Comics career The Waltrips were discovered by a talent scout in 1987 who was sent a copy of their amateur comic called ''CyberKnights''. They first became publicly known for their work on '' Robotech II: The Sentinels'', for Eternity Comics in 1988, despite earlier efforts for Steve Jackson Games on the ''Car Wars'' game line. They soon followed up with other spin-off comic series such as ''Robotech Genesis: The Legend of Zor'' along with work on occasional swimsuit issues. Canon (fiction)
In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in an individual universe of that story by its fan base. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction. The Sentinels
The Sentinels are two 90 metre tall residential tower blocks on Holloway Head in Birmingham, England. The two towers, called Clydesdale Tower and Cleveland Tower, are both 31 storeys tall and were part of a major regeneration and council home building scheme following World War II which in the 1960s and 1970s saw the construction of hundreds of tower blocks. Originally built and operated by the City of Birmingham, the buildings were part of a stock transfer from Birmingham local authority to Optima Community Association in 1999, and today the buildings are owned by Citizen housing association (itself an amalgamation of several West Midlands housing associations). Anaglyph 3D
Anaglyph 3D is the stereoscopic 3D effect achieved by means of encoding each eye's image using filters of different (usually chromatically opposite) colors, typically red and cyan. Anaglyph 3D images contain two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the "color-coded" "anaglyph glasses", each of the two images reaches the eye it's intended for, revealing an integrated stereoscopic image. The visual cortex of the brain fuses this into the perception of a three-dimensional scene or composition. Anaglyph images have seen a recent resurgence due to the presentation of images and video on the Web, Blu-ray Discs, CDs, and even in print. Low cost paper frames or plastic-framed glasses hold accurate color filters that typically, after 2002, make use of all 3 primary colors. Wildstorm
Wildstorm Productions, (stylized as WildStorm), is an American comic book imprint. Originally founded as an independent company established by Jim Lee under the name "Aegis Entertainment" and expanded in subsequent years by other creators, Wildstorm became a publishing imprint of DC Comics in 1999. Until it was shut down in 2010, the Wildstorm imprint remained editorially separate from DC Comics, with its main studio located in California. Brian Charles Daley (December 22, 1947 – February 11, 1996) was an American science fiction novelist. He also adapted for radio the ''Star Wars'' radio dramas and wrote all of its episodes. A spoiler is an element of a disseminated summary or description of any narrative that reveals plot elements. Typically, the details of the conclusion of the plot, including the climax and ending, are especially regarded as spoiler material. It can also be used to refer to any piece of information regarding any part of a given media that a potential consumer was not intended to know beforehand. Walter Neugebauer
Walter Neugebauer (sometimes Slavicized as Valter Nojgebauer; 28 March 1921 – 31 May 1992) was a Croatian comic book artist and animator. Neugebauer is considered one of the founders of comics in Croatia, along with Andrija Maurović. Biography Neugebauer debuted his first strip in the Zagreb review ''Oko'' in October 1935. In 1943, Walter and his brother Norbert launched the weekly comic ''Zabavnik'', which was published for two years before being banned by the new communist government in May 1945. In 1945, Neugebauer was creating an illustrated version of ''Brother Jaglenac and Sister Rutvica'' from Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić's ''Croatian Tales of Long Ago'' which was never completed.
