Robinson Town Centre
Robinson Town Centre is an expansive, open-air power center located near The Mall at Robinson in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania. Announced on June 28, 1987, and completed in 1988, it is situated nearly 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh along Interstate 376 (Parkway West) and Route 60. Robinson Town Centre spurred development of the shopping districts in the western hills of Allegheny County. The mall and town center serve as the main shopping district for residents of Pittsburgh's Airport Area. Both The Mall at Robinson and Robinson Town Centre are owned by Forest City Enterprises of Cleveland, Ohio. Other developments include The Pointe at North Fayette, Robinson Crossroads, Robinson Court, and Settlers Ridge. Robinson Township is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States approximately west of Pittsburgh. The population was 13,354 at the 2010 census. Geography Robinson Township is located at (40.458008, -80.128259). According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.21%, is water. Robinson is composed of at least four distinct regions that represent former communities that once existed within the township; Groveton (industrial area near the Ohio River), Forest Grove (the area around Forest Grove Elementary and Montour High School), Gayly (The area around Settlers Ridge Shopping Center and The Mall at Robinson), and Moon Run (also a part of Kennedy Township, and includes the areas near Burkett Park and Chartiers Country Club). Richard Scott Baumhammers (born May 17, 1965) is an American former immigration attorney and spree killer who began a racially motivated crime spree on April 28, 2000, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which left five individuals dead and one paralyzed. Early life Richard Baumhammers was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Andrejs and Inese Baumhammers, both Lutheran Latvian immigrants who fled the Soviet occupation of their homeland. Both parents would become faculty members of the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine and would open a successful practice on Fifth Avenue, near the university.
