Robinson Opong
Robinson Odoch Opong (born 10 May 1989) is a Ugandan professional basketball player who last played for Rivers Hoopers of the Nigerian Premier League (NPL) and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He also plays for the Uganda national basketball team. Career On 11 April 2020, Opong signed with the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian CEBL. In April 2021, Opong signed with Rivers Hoopers to play in the 2021 BAL season. He replaced the injured Festus Ezeli. Rivers Hoopers is a Nigerian basketball team based in Port Harcourt, Rivers. The team plays in the Nigerian Premier League. Established in 2009 as Royal Hoopers, the team has played in the Premier League since its inception. Hoopers have won the national championship four times, with titles in 2011, 2012, 2019 and 2021. History The club was established in 2009 as Royal Hoopers, with Ogoh Odaudu at the reins as head coach. The team won its first NPL championship in 2011. FIBA AfroBasket 2017 was the 29th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was jointly hosted by Tunisia and Senegal. Angola was proposed by FIBA Africa to host the tournament, an offer declined as the country is holding general elections in the same period. Ifeanyi Festus Ezeli-Ndulue (born October 21, 1989) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player. He previously played five seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball, Vanderbilt before being selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. Ezeli won an 2015 NBA Finals, NBA Championship with the Warriors in 2015. He last appeared in the 2016 NBA Finals, and did not play basketball since his knee surgery in the 2017 season until coming back in 2021.
