Robinson Njeru Githae
Robinson Njeru Githae is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Party of National Unity and was elected to represent the Ndia Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2002. He has served as assistant minister in the ministries of justice, transport and local government before being appointed a minister in the ministries of Nairobi Metropolitan then Kenya's finance minister. He was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenya- US ambassador on 14/08/2014. He was later transferred to Vienna in May 2019 as Kenya’s ambassador to Austria where he is currently serving. 2002 Kenyan General Election
General elections were held in Kenya on 27 December 2002. Voters elected the President, and members of the National Assembly. They coincided with the 2002 Kenyan local elections. Mwai Kibaki of the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) was elected, defeating Uhuru Kenyatta of the Kenya African National Union (KANU) and Simeon Nyachae of FORD–People. Incumbent president Daniel arap Moi was ineligible to pursue a third term due to the two-term limit in the Constitution of Kenya. This was the first truly free general election held in Kenya since independence in 1964; a number of by-elections were held in 1966 before the onset of de facto one-party rule in 1969. The general election saw the end of the long-standing dominance of the KANU, which had governed the country since independence in 1963, including 23 years as the only legal party. Eunice Muringo Kiereini (born 1939) is a retired nurse who was Kenya's Chief Nursing Officer from 1968 to 1986, with responsibility for overseeing and developing nursing in Kenya after independence. She has served in many different health organisations, at home and abroad, and was the first African president of the International Council of Nurses (ICN). Early years Eunice Muringo Githae was born on 24 September 1939 in Kerugoya to parents who were both teachers. After secondary education at Loreto High School in Limuru she went to the UK to train at Southampton General Hospital from 1959–1962. Once she had qualified as a nurse she went to the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion in Edinburgh for midwifery training, completing it in 1964. She worked at George VI hospital, now Kenyatta National Hospital, before doing additional training at the Victoria University School of Nursing in Wellington, New Zealand. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta (born 26 October 1961) is a Kenyan politician who served as the fourth president of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. Kenyatta was chosen by Daniel Arap Moi as his preferred successor, but Kenyatta was defeated by opposition leader Mwai Kibaki in the 2002 election and Kibaki replaced Moi as president. Kenyatta served as the member of parliament (MP) for Gatundu South from 2002 to 2013. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister to Raila Odinga from 2008 to 2013.
